For the past two days we’ve seen social media tools being exploited for evil.

Yesterday Twitter users were driven to porn sites by simply hovering their mouse on the offending tweet. And prior, Facebook users were duped to liking a bogus fan page.

Businesses need to be extra careful when they come across shared links like these on their social media accounts. The nature of these attacks could spread very quickly through out your network and could lead your customers to very bad places on the web. If your Facebook fan page or Twitter account starts to share any of these bogus links please inform your followers not to touch it and contact your IT personnel immediately. You should report these bugs to each platform as well.

If you don’t know where it came from, don’t touch it.—PEDRO CASTRO
